Stillingia — Root (Stillingia sylvatica) — organic, small-batch dried root, cut and sifted.

AKA: Queen's Delight, Queen's Root, Yaw Root, Silver Leaf.

Stillingia grows in the dry, sandy pine and oak country of the American South, from East Texas across to the Carolinas. The root is thick, woody, and carries a faint acrid bite when fresh that fades as it dries. Nineteenth-century Eclectic physicians made it a fixture of their formularies, and the compound syrup that carried its name stayed in American pharmacy well into the 1900s. It is a strong, old-fashioned root, prepared as a simmered decoction and used in small amounts.

Traditionally used to support:

  • Traditionally used/valued for a body cleanser, for lymphatic system support, and skin sores.
  • Traditionally used as an alterative root in Eclectic and Southern folk practice
  • Traditionally simmered as a decoction rather than steeped, and used sparingly

Ethically sourced and hand-packed by AMA Remedies in small batches.
