Steady Nerves Tincture — a small-batch liquid herbal 1:5 extract of seven gentle leaves and flowers, handcrafted by AMA Remedies. The dropper version of our Steady Nerves loose leaf tea.
Pale gold-green. Bright, then floral. The last dropper of the night.
Lemon balm leads, the lemon-scented mint that European monks have grown in cloister gardens since the Middle Ages, and chamomile sits right beside it. Oatstraw and passionflower fill the middle. Holy basil — tulsi, the peppery, clove-like basil of Indian courtyards — and skullcap, a soft mint-family leaf with an unfortunate name, round it out. Lavender finishes it; you will smell it before you taste it. Bright citrus up front, soft flowers behind, a little green in the middle. Take it in warm water and it smells like the tea.
Made at a 1:5 herb-to-solvent ratio — one part dried botanicals to five parts extraction liquid — and steeped four to six weeks at room temperature before pressing.
Ingredients: Lemon balm leaf (Melissa officinalis), chamomile flower (Matricaria chamomilla), oatstraw (Avena sativa), passionflower herb (Passiflora incarnata), holy basil leaf (Ocimum tenuiflorum), skullcap herb (Scutellaria lateriflora), lavender flower (Lavandula angustifolia), grain alcohol, distilled water. Approximately 50% alcohol by volume.
Suggested use: Shake well before use. Adults: 2 mL (about 40–50 drops) in water, tea, or juice, up to twice daily, best in the evening. Follow the directions and precautions on your product label. One 2 fl oz bottle is a 15- to 30-day supply at this rate.
